Both of these vehicles have plenty to offer, but only one of them has all the qualities you’re looking for in your next vehicle. The Encore GX is also a two-row that can hold five passengers, and while the seats are comfortable there isn’t a lot of space for taller passengers. Compared to the HR-V the Encore GX also has less cargo space available.
The Honda HR-V was fully redesigned for its 2023 model year, which includes upgraded technology for the interior and more space for passengers to sit comfortably due to its longer and wider frame. The ride and handling were also improved due to the new independent rear suspension.
The Buick Encore GX welcomed Moonstone Gray Metallic to its available exterior colors for the 2023 model year.
The Honda HR-V is confident on the road with surefooted handling and its 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is available. The HR-V provides a smooth ride whenever it absorbs rough roads with its new independent rear suspension.
The Encore GX has two engine options and both of them are smaller than the HR-V’s engine. Its base engine is a 137-horsepower turbocharged 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine and its available engine is a 155-horsepower turbocharged 1.3-liter 3-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive is standard in the Encore GX, and all-wheel drive is available. Also, the transmission has two options: a continuous automatic paired with the front-wheel drive, and an all-wheel drive with nine-speed automatic transmission.
Both the HR-V and the Buick took just over nine seconds to reach 60 mph.
