These two crossovers are from well-respected Japanese automakers and offer plenty of space and tech. They also have comprehensive safety features and nippy performance.

Finding the best choice can be challenging, so we're here to help. Our compact crossover comparison will focus on the interior, performance, and safety offerings of the 2024 CR-V and the 2024 Rogue.

Interior Comparison

The 2024 Honda CR-V and the 2024 Nissan Rogue are two-row compact crossovers that can seat up to five adults each. While they are broadly similar in interior volume, the 2024 Honda CR-V offers comfortable seats for the driver and front passenger. Honda has engineered these seats to minimize fatigue during long trips. The rear-seat passengers can also recline their seats for a more comfortable seating angle. Finally, every 2024 CR-V comes with Active Noise Cancellation. This system filters out road and engine noise for a more refined cabin.

You won’t find active noise cancellation or reclining rear seats on the 2024 Rogue. However, the 2024 Rogue offers tri-zone climate control, while the 2024 CR-V comes with dual-zone climate control. Furthermore, while higher trims of the 2024 Rogue have a digital instrument cluster, all CR-V trims get a part-digital cluster. You’ll appreciate its readability in direct sunlight, while the 2024 Rogue’s cluster can get overwhelmed under strong lighting.

Both compact crossovers have Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ on all trims, Bluetooth® hands-free, and audio streaming. Higher trims of the 2024 CR-V add a wireless phone charger plus a 12-speaker Bose sound system. Meanwhile, the 2024 Rogue offers a heads-up display as an option.

The 2024 CR-V and the 2024 Rogue have plenty of storage spaces and cup holders for front and rear passengers. They also come with spacious trunks. The 2024 CR-V has the advantage, with 39 cubic feet and a height-adjustable cargo floor. The 2024 Rogue only offers 37 cubic feet and a fixed cargo floor. However, users can split-fold the rear seats of either compact crossover for more cargo capacity.

Performance Comparison

Honda equips the 2024 CR-V range with two powertrains. The bottom two trims come with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit, also seen in other Honda and Acura models. For the 2024 CR-V, the engine is rated at 190 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. It drives the front wheels via a CVT gearbox. Moreover, buyers can choose all-wheel drive for more traction.

The four higher trims of the 2024 CR-V get Honda’s newest Earth Dreams Hybrid powertrain. The system uses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. An electronic CVT gearbox with deceleration selectors sends drive to the front wheels. The system can produce up to 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. An all-wheel-drive system is also available for this powertrain.

Standard features for all 2024 CR-Vs include Honda's Eco Assist function. This helps drivers realize a more fuel-economical driving style via visual prompts. Furthermore, a hill start assist and hill descent control are included, as is a drive mode selector. Non-hybrid variants have three modes, namely Eco, Normal, and Snow. Meanwhile, hybrid variants add a Sport mode.

The 2024 Rogue doesn’t offer a hybrid powertrain. Buyers only get a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. It also has a front-wheel drive and a CVT gearbox as standard. All-wheel drive is optional.

Safety Features Comparison

Every 2024 CR-V comes with Honda’s comprehensive Sensing® suite. Standard features include automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Moreover, you'll receive adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance on all trims. The 2024 Rogue doesn't have all these features as standard. Some of these safety features are only options.
